A Brief Introduction

Netaji Subhash Engineering College (NSEC), keeping in mind the ideals of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, was established in 1998 at Techno City, New Garia, Kolkata, in collaboration with the Techno India Group and The Institute of Computer Engineers (India). The college offers engineering courses in the departments of computer science (CSE), information tachnology (IT), electronics and communication (ECE), electrical(EE), applied electronics and instrumentation(AEIE), mechanical(ME) and civil engineeering(CE). It is a NAAC and NBA credited college with a remarkable NIRF ranking of 251.

About Us

The department of ECE started its journey during the inception of the institute in 1998 with an intake of sixty (60) 1st year B.Tech. students. Since its establishment, the primary objective of the department has been to impart quality education, training and research in various functional areas of electronics and communication engineering. The Head of the Department is Prof.Chira Ranjan Datta.The departmental students over the years ,have made quite a lot of academic and extra-curricular acheivements in different fields. The department has an excellent departmental library and also provides good lab facilities. The faculties are experienced and research-oriented. The department also actively participates in seminars involving topics like ML, AI, Web Development, Embedded Systems, Electronics, etc.

The students also participate in cultural activities involing celebrtion of Teachers' Day, Fresher parties, Reunion of previous batches, etc. Every year, the college hosts Sports Tournament among the departments, in which many ECE students take an active part.


History

  • Started journey in 1998 with sixty students.
  • In the academic year 2001-2002, the 1st year B.Tech. intake of the department was increased from 60 to 90.
  • Later, in the year 2005-2006, it was further increased to 120.
  • In 2005-2006, the department also started its post graduate (M.Tech.) programme in Communication Engineering.
